The Wave is a program of major transport infrastructure projects proposed for the Sunshine Coast, announced as part of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Delivery Plan. The program is proposed to be delivered in three stages, with Stages 1 and 2 delivering a heavy passenger rail line from Beerwah to Birtinya (formerly the Direct Sunshine Coast Rail Project), integrating with Stage 3.

The Wave Stage 3 proposes a high‑frequency, high‑capacity metro‑style public transport corridor between Birtinya and the Sunshine Coast Airport via the Maroochydore CBD, including associated station works and the Mooloolah River Interchange upgrade, connecting with the proposed Wave Stage 2 heavy rail network at Birtinya. The proposal is intended to complete the Sunshine Coast public transport spine, supporting improved connectivity between key activity centres on the Sunshine Coast.
