A map showing the proposed Coomera connector

The Coomera Connector Stage 1 proposal is for an alternative transport route to the M1 for local trips between Coomera and Nerang. The Coomera Connector is the preferred option to relieve current and future congestion on the M1 and will improve the productivity of the Gold Coast by increasing the number of people that can access their jobs within 30 minutes. The proposal is for a new four lane high speed arterial road between Shipper Drive in Coomera and Nerang–Broadbeach Road in Nerang. Ultimately, the Coomera Connector will extend from Loganholme to Nerang to connect the fast growing residential and employment centres in Logan and the Gold Coast.

This proposal responds to the existing M1 Pacific Motorway capacity: Eight Mile Plains to Tugun Stage 2 Potential Investment Options Proposal on the Infrastructure Priority List.

The Australian Government has committed $765.25 million in funding towards project.
