In 2015, Infrastructure Australia recommended that the Princes Highway West – Winchelsea to Colac Duplication initiative be rated as ‘subject to further consideration’.

The project would deliver a four-lane divided highway for approximately 37 kilometres, responding to congestion and road safety concerns on the Princes Highway. However, the business case showed that the costs of the project are likely to exceed its benefits.
