In 2013, Infrastructure Australia positively assessed the Great Northern Highway – Muchea to Wubin Stage 2 project as ‘Threshold’ on the Infrastructure Priority List.

The initiative consists of 87km of road upgrades in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, connecting Perth to the north-west. Infrastructure Australia recommended the development of a detailed business case.
