The purpose of this report, commissioned by the National PPP Forum, is to benchmark Australian PPP projects against a representative sample of traditionally procured infrastructure projects on time and cost performance indicators.
The research was conducted in two phases. Phase I involved identification of a range of possible projects from around Australia that could be included in the research.
This report presents phase II of the research. It details the findings of a high-level analysis of 25 PPP projects and 42 traditional projects from seven Australian government jurisdictions: the Australian Government; New South Wales; Northern Territory; Queensland; Tasmania; Victoria and Western Australia.
The study statistically analysed and compared the project data set of traditional and public–private partnership projects. The report presents eight key findings as a result of comparisons of cost and time parameters.
