The Mooloolah River Interchange proposal is for improvements to the interchange at the intersection of the Sunshine Motorway, Brisbane Road and Nicklin Way, to meet demand pressures.

The report summarises the results of detailed transport network modelling undertaken by Veitch Lister Consulting on behalf of Infrastructure Australia for the 2019 Australian Infrastructure Audit. The modelling was undertaken for the nation’s six largest urban conurbations, defined as an extended urban area.

In 2011, Infrastructure Australia moved the Cross River Rail project in Brisbane from ‘Real Potential’ (June 2010), to ‘Threshold’ on the Infrastructure Priority List.

On 19 July 2017, Infrastructure Australia has retained Cross River Rail as a High Priority Initiative on the Infrastructure Priority List. Infrastructure Australia has not included the current proposal for Cross River Rail as a Project on the Infrastructure Priority List at this time.

On 16 February 2018, Infrastructure Australia added the Beerburrum to Nambour Rail Upgrade project the Infrastructure Priority List as a Priority Project.
