The East and West Sections of the Great Western Highway Upgrade Program involves the upgrade of the Great Western Highway between Katoomba and Blackheath, and between Little Hartley and Lithgow.

On 21 June 2018, Infrastructure Australia assessed the Lower Fitzroy River Infrastructure Project and chose not to include it on the Infrastructure Priority List.

The Nowra Bridge Project has been added to the Infrastructure Priority List as a Priority Project.
