The report summarises the results of detailed transport network modelling undertaken by Veitch Lister Consulting on behalf of Infrastructure Australia for the 2019 Australian Infrastructure Audit. The modelling was undertaken for the nation’s six largest urban conurbations, defined as an extended urban area. 

The 2019 Audit covers transport, energy, water, telecommunications and – for the first time – social infrastructure, and looks at the major challenges and opportunities facing Australia’s infrastructure over the next 15 years and beyond. We have presented our findings in terms that matter to users, by focusing on outcomes for them. Our hope is that this enhanced focus on users, and the role infrastructure can play in improving their quality of life, helps to drive better decisions that are rooted in the long-term interests of Australians.

Infrastructure Australia's report to the Council of Australian Governments, Communicating the Imperative for Action, outlines the areas that Infrastructure Australia will focus its efforts in over four-year period following the release of the report.
