The business case is for removing six level crossings on the inner Armadale Line. The project aims to improve safety and reduce congestion at the level crossings, as well as improving station precincts and public open space.
The business case is to extend the Armadale Line approximately eight kilometres south to Byford. This is to support and provide public transport access to the high-growth suburb of Byford.
The business case was accepted for Infrastructure Australia's evaluation on 14 July 2020.
The proposal comprises the duplication of the remaining single-track section of the Port Botany Rail Line, and delivery of a new passing loop on the Southern Sydney Freight Line, to increase capacity, efficiency and reliability.
The business case is for a new 16-kilometre motorway to connect the Western Sydney International Airport at Badgerys Creek with Sydney’s motorway network.
