This speech was given by Chairman Mark Birrell at the AusRail 2015 Conference and Exhibition on 24 November 2015. The Chairman addressed the issue of establishing an infrastructure pipeline for the future growth of Australian rail.

In the presentations, he discussed the results of the Audit at a national and sectoral level and discussed the approach for the 15-year Australian Infrastructure Plan.

The Audit provides the evidence base for the development of Infrastructure Australia's Australian Infrastructure Plan (the Plan). The Plan will address the key challenges raised by the Audit and identify a range of investment and reform priorities to be implemented in the coming 15 years and beyond.
